There are three main types of body cooling systems
available The following may help in requesting or choosing the right
system for you:
- Evaporative Cooling:
Products are
soaked in cool water and towel dried. This activates a polymer in the
Polar system inside the garment which holds the water for many hours.
The evaporation of this water cools the body. These systems work well
in low humidity climates. Those living in higher humidity climates or
desiring a higher efficiency system are best choosing a cold pack Kool Max
system.
- Cold Pack Cooling: These
garments cool through the use of special cold packs. The cold packs are
placed in the freezer until frozen, then placed in insulated pockets on
the vests and wraps. A single set of cold packs will last 2 to 4
hours. This type of cooling is not limited by the level of humidity
as evaporative cooling is and is an excellent choice when you do not
wish to wet garments, when you may want to wear the cooling garment
under clothes and / or when there is higher ambient humidity
- Active Cooling Therapy:
Cool water is pumped through tubes sewn into a vest. This type
of cooling is the highest level of deep, core body cooling.
